Each post begins with a current engineering problem and one overlooked mechanism. We publish when the mechanism clarifies an engineering decision or provides a technique readers can test.
Evidence
Claims rely on the closest available sources: original documentation and code, published research, standards, or first-hand technical accounts. When implementation matters, we publish the relevant code, environment, versions, and limitations whenever practical.
Comparison and judgment
We choose explicit criteria and a credible current baseline before reaching a conclusion. Low adoption does not prove that an idea was inferior, and obscurity does not make it superior. Published work distinguishes verified fact, interpretation, and unresolved questions.
Review and corrections
Major technical and historical claims receive specialist review when qualified reviewers are available. Material corrections remain visible, and incomplete evidence remains identified as such.
